This graph shows us that there is growing opportunities around the world for organizations to serve the e-consumer. However, you have to know where to look because countries are building digital capacity at uneven rates.
The Fletcher School in collaboration with MasterCard Worldwide and DataCash created the Digital Evolution Index in order to measure the digital trajectories of different countries. With the help of this index they can provide actionable and data-informed insights for businesses, investors and policymakers. This group of 50 countries reveals four main areas of digital readiness within the digital economy. The four main areas of are: Stall Out, Watch Out, Break Out and Stand out.
If you take a closer look at the graph above you can see that Break Out countries like Chile, Brazil, Mexico and China are advancing quite rapidly. This means that they are improving their digital readiness at a fast pace. On the other hand what is important to keep in mind is that the next phase of growth is harder to achieve.
