Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

24 Dec 2006

Dear friends, clients and mentors,

From all of us at the Thinque Team we wish you all a very merry Christmas.

Unfortunately, we are still waiting for snow up in northern Europe which is a bit disappointing but I am sure I will get to experience some snow-powder in Chamonix when I head down to France after New Year's. I have had a great Christmas Eve-morning. Is that a contradiction in terms? In Sweden, we celebrate Christmas on the 24th so we are right into the celebrations already, which is nice. A lot of gift wrapping and family time has been on the agenda. Having visited my elderly Grandfather a few hours from Stockholm I realise how much joy and excitement the younger generations can bring to those with more life experience and those of older vintages than ourselves. A great lesson for us Gen Y - too many elderly folk ar sitting alone at home during this special time - my encouragement for myself and others is to spread some love to those who may have lost most of friends and loved ones from a time gone by, and to contribute to their celebrations this Christmas.

I have just finished reading some great books here in Sweden. Firstly on my way over I had the privilege of reading Karaoke Capitalism by DRs Nordstrom and Ridderstrale, and then while here I have completed Peter Sheahan's Generation Y which is an equally insightful and easy-going read. I love reading, so it is great to take away some gems from insightful and cutting-edge authors, which helps with our mind-sets. I can definitely recommend these for those of you with some spare time during the holidays. For those of you who are HR managers or CEOs, they are definitely must-reads.

The other day I enjoyed lunch with Johan Plate, who is Sweden's foremost coach and mental advisor to numerous leading sporting clubs and corporations. He was so kind as to share many tips and suggestions with me from his 25 years of experience in the industry. For those of you with swedish speaking software, visit www.plate.nu for the latest updates. Another great resource I have come across is http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/ who shares many latest developments and cutting edge tools in the arena of personal development and professional development.

Enjoy and have a loving and wonderful Christmas!

Kind regards

Anders
